Frequently asked questions
Where does the music go?
You get two videos. One has only the voice, the other has the music and ambient sound. Sound effects follow the music side. Separating music from effects is a harder problem, and we don't pretend otherwise.
Do I upload my video?
No. The picture is processed inside your browser with WebAssembly. Only the audio track — about 1 MB per minute — is sent for the separation, then deleted within an hour.
Which formats and limits?
Videos up to 2 GB and 30 minutes (MP4 / MOV / MKV / WEBM), or audio files (MP3 / WAV / M4A). An audio input returns audio tracks only. The free allowance counts 10 minutes per day by media length.
Does the picture lose quality?
No. The video stream is never re-encoded. The original picture stream is remuxed with the new audio, so the image is bit-for-bit what you shot.
Which browser works best?
Chrome and Edge are the smoothest and can save large results directly to disk. Safari and Firefox work up to around 500 MB.
